Marissa Hernandez has studied various types of dance since the age of 5; including Ballet, Tap, Jazz, Modern, Contact Improv, Hip-Hop, Musical Theatre, Belly Dance and Burlesque. She decided at the age of 13 that dance was what she was. She lives, eats, breathes and sleeps dance.
Marissa worked as Assistant Director for Echappe Dance Art Theatre and The Nutrcracker for five years and has trained with Bon Marie Munier, Sierra Dance Institute, Robert Moses, Lizz Roman, Karen Attix, Stacey Printz, Linda Bair. Marissa was a Sierra College Dance Club member and student choreographer for Artbeat-A Sierra College multi-genre art extravaganza in 2006.
Marissa has been a dancer in TMA since 2005 and became Associate Choreographer in 2006. With Lovie Bucknell and Marni Marshall, Marissa also co-founded TMA School in 2008. Marissa has spent considerable time fostering the school’s childrens’ program and TMA Junior Company.
Marissa currently teaches two Fusion Classes a week for TMA School. The Friday Fusion class also doubles as TMA Junior Company Class.
